Let them do their jobs

This past week has been a proving ground for the U.S. Military, but as good as a commander-in chief might be, he remains a civilian taking decisions on a military issue, as Iraq. That's why the intervention of General Petraeus is going to make an important change in the decisions there: let the people in the ground, the guys that earn their living and risk their lives there daily make the decisions, and recommend a proper course of action. We conservative should have defended that from day one, but it's not too late.

No wonder those infamous Dems and far-left media are throwing shit with shovels in the General's name (they can't even THINK of touching him, though), calling him names like "General Betray Us". If this guy is successful, they are screwed, because most, if not all, the opposition to the Bush administration has been blindly rerouted to a "no-war" policy that a Dem candidate had to comply to if he wanted to be let speak in the NY Times....

Of course, a successful solution will take time to be achieved, but if the ones that have to take the decisions, the right people in Iraq, not in Washington. And Republicans should care about not getting credit for anything at all: it's not their almighty hand, this time. The economy is not doing great either, so come on...

But what really is to be taken into consideration is that, if Petraeus does the right thing in Iraq, he should really get an early retirement and aim for the White House. Americans have always relied on their Caesars to lead the nation. It happened with Grant, with Eisenhower and probably could happen with this one too... As long as the right moves are made, of course.
